It has now been four months since the launch of the Recreation Reserve Master Plan. The BRRCOM has been to look at other recreation facilities in communities similar to ours, met with politicians, met with shire councillors, spoken to sports administrators and fundraised.
Thank you to all those who came to our Mini Mid Winter Festival, helped at function, given donations and generally taken an interest in the project.
Direct donations to the B R R Redevelopment Trust Fund total $21000.00 Notable donations to the trust fund include $780 from a private ‘Bar Opening Party’ held in Barry St. Birregurra, $800 from the Polworth Ladies Mid Week Tennis Association and $4250 from the now disbanded Birregurra St. Patricks Racing Club.
Donations to the Australian Sport Foundation (Birregurra Project) total $28370.00
Our Mini Mid Winter Festival raised $3100.
Apart from a major fundraising function planned for Nov 2nd the BRRCOM is now planning the staging of the redevelopment and formalising plans for the building. Another trip to Bungaree will be planned, as their building design would work very well on our site. Anyone wanting to join those going to visit Bungaree again contact Ron Elsbury on 0429700146
The major user groups of the Recreation Reserve will again be asked for input into the design and their priorities for timing of the projects different stages.
In the meantime we have another fundraiser, which will be held at the Bendigo Bank Room Eastern Reserve Winchelsea. See advertisement in this Birregurra Mail for details.
